The war changed Ukrainians very much. Every day it becomes more and more difficult to stay here and wait for the victory or to leave Europe (especially a country like Slovakia or Hungary to wake up) and realize that the war is near and Russian missiles will not spare anyone: neither the old nor the pregnant nor the new-borns.

I am the wife of a military man, a man who went to defend Ukraine in the first days. These horrors of the war did not escape our family either. Even before the war, we bought an apartment in the beautiful town of Irpin… Now, we have no hope of rebuilding or repurchasing.

The sociology of war is a rather difficult question, especially when the government of the country lives separately from the people. The most powerful part of the front rests on volunteers, and the Western partners are still thinking about how much and when exactly it is appropriate to give weapons for the defense of our state. This is at a time when dozens or even hundreds of people (both military and civilian) die in Ukraine every day. And I want to emphasize that the majority of our current military are yesterday’s civilians. For example, before the war, my husband was a cook in a restaurant, and now… Now he is a soldier who went through the hell of war.

Ukrainians are united as far as possible, but a number of questions arise regarding Ukraine’s entry into the EU or NATO, or in general… Will the world wake up? It is obvious that Russia will NEVER stop. Look at history: Georgia (1991), Abkhazia (1991–1993), Transnistrian Conflict (1912), Ossetian-Ingush conflict (1992), the First Chechen War (1994–1996), war in Dagestan (1999), the Second Chechen War (1999–2009), Russian-Georgian war (2008), armed conflict in the North Caucasus (2009–2014), Russian-Ukrainian war (2014 to date). So, if someone in Europe has illusions about the fact that Russia will not start mass murders, rapes (and mass ones: old people, children of both sexes, teenagers), and abuse of civilians and military personnel, then it is worth taking off the rose-colored glasses and understanding: Russia -country- killed himself.

If we talk about the sociological attitudes of Ukrainians, they are definitely different, but there is no optimism that the war will end tomorrow. There is complete fatigue. Ukrainians are forced to survive every day because the air alarm signal is a death call.

It is also worth paying attention to the demographic crisis because many people left the country to escape the war, and many died. As a result of the war, there is a large gender imbalance; there will not be enough men to restore and create families, which will therefore increase the birth rate. But it is worth taking into account the factor that few people want to give birth now because giving birth under sirens and explosions overhead is not a dream day for every woman. Racists deliberately target maternity hospitals and hospitals under the guise of lies about military facilities.

At the same time, an extremely painful issue arises: ecological disasters on the territory of Ukraine, which were caused by the invasion of the Rashists. There is a threat of an explosion at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which could lead to a global nuclear disaster. World leaders know that there are Russian troops, weapons, and mines on the territory of the nuclear plant – but still there is no proper reaction. I want to emphasize that no one can control the wind, and if radiation goes to the territory of your country somewhere in Europe, then blame yourself!!!!

The cynical undermining of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric station. There were 51,283 houses flooded, of which 11,041 were completely flooded and 6,568 were partially flooded. And how many civilian lives are there, including those of children and unborn children? When and who in the world will start asking themselves these questions? Let’s also remember that the Russian Federation wants to hide its crimes on the Left Bank of the Dnieper and did not allow rescuers or journalists there. And one should also ask about the level of environmental damage from these events. Destruction of soils where agricultural crops were grown, farming, and cattle breeding were carried out. And all this directly affects the economy of Ukraine.

The issue of depopulation of some territories over others becomes problematic. Currently, due to the war, the structures of people’s resettlement due to internally displaced persons are changing, and the labor market is changing. Many have gone to war, and the labor force in the rear is becoming less and less. Well, the need to transfer Ukraine to military production and supply is definitely a key problem. Because Ukraine’s neighbor will always be Russia, and now we are sure that they cannot be trusted under any circumstances. The one who attacked once will attack again; it’s just a matter of time.

I would like to say that it is difficult for Ukraine and Ukrainians. People die here every day, and these people are someone’s relatives: sons, husbands, daughters, wives, children, and fathers. I want to believe, but my faith is less and less every day. Not in victory, but in faith in survival. The morale is getting worse every day because we don’t know if we will wake up in the morning… The Russians like to fire at night. It is difficult when children are forced to grow up in bomb shelters; it is difficult to send a loved one to war and not hear from him; not knowing how to explain to children where their father is; it’s hard to believe when faith fades!!!

I urge everyone who reads this material to remember that war is closer than you think. Believe me, the rocket will not spare anyone. They don’t care who to kill. There is only one way: the democratic world must be stronger physically, militarily, economically, and morally. Otherwise, the world map will change a lot!

Russia has nuclear weapons, and I do not believe that they will not have the courage to use them. Ukrainians have already seen the atrocities of the Rashists, and, believe me, they will not stop in Ukraine. Therefore, at the moment, I am analyzing the situation in the world and the political ties that Russia is forming. It is worth thinking about whether Europe will be in the same composition in a year or two??? So, in the end, I want to wish everyone wisdom. Wisdom, the ability to analyze facts, and kindness, because only kindness can save this world.
