I come from the city of Poltava. I am 55 years old. I am an accountant by profession.

When the war started, I spent the whole time in the basement. It was very loud, and it wasn’t clear what was going to happen next. The town of Oktirka, which is not far from Poltava, was occupied by Russians, and I decided to drive away from Poltava.

The road to Germany was long and difficult. The man accompanied me to the border with Poland, but he was supposed to stay in Ukraine because he was not yet 60 years old. I saw many people with children and pets; everyone was shocked. I also took my dog with me. I was in Poland for 2 days, then I came to Germany with the help of volunteers.

I am very grateful to Germany and Germans.

The main problem is the German language, although I already have B1 in German. There is also a problem with the recognition of a job or study. It would be nice if it were quicker…
