I live in Bretten, Germany, with my wife Seren and our cats Leblebi and Vanik, and I am writing my doctorate in the Department of International Relations and Political Science at Istanbul Yeditepe University. From 2022 to 2023, I held the position of a visiting doctorate student at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg, Germany. Between 2021-2022, I was again a visiting PhD student at the University of Groningen (Groningen, Netherlands). I worked as a journalist in different media outlets, including Newsweek Turkey, and as an editor in different bookstores.
I served as a freelance translator for Alfa Publications, undertaking the task of translating the book “A Two-Colored Brocade: The Imagery of Persian Poetry” authored by Annemarie Schimmel”.
