On the morning of October 1, Russia launched a drone attack on a school in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv. Pupils and teachers were in the shelter; there were no casualties.

This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who also noted that a fire broke out after the strike.

After the air alarm sounded, 104 pupils and 60 teachers took shelter in the school, where classes continued. The strike damaged the facade of the school building at the third-floor level.

Rescue workers, medical personnel, police, and other relevant specialists responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished. After receiving clearance from emergency services, pupils and staff were evacuated, and the children were handed over to their parents.

The building will undergo an inspection to assess the damage. Just last year, the school was renovated after a blast wave from a nearby strike shattered its windows.

This is not the first attack on educational institutions in Kyiv. To date, 334 educational institutions have been damaged as a result of Russian attacks.
